An exhaustive build process ensures the components used for your wheel build reach their maximum tolerances, perform at their best, and continue to do so for as long as possible.
Every component has been selected with serviceability and maintenance in mind. Hand built wheels are not disposable, they are an investment which will stand the test of time.
Each pair of wheels is matched to the individual rider. Your physique, riding habits and performance requirements are carefully considered so that your wheels can deliver on your cycling aspirations, and never let you down.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. A hand built wheel is inherently customisable and can be as unique as the individual rider. If you want something out of the ordinary, don’t be afraid to ask!
We all want to feel special sometimes. To know that a pair of wheels has been conceived and laboured over by a skilled craftsman, just for you, is a rare and rewarding feeling. It is a very human connection, lacking from the majority of purchases in the modern world.
I’ve built hundreds, if not thousands of wheels for riders just starting out, right through to Olympic medallists and Tour de France winners. Each pair is built with the same precision and attention to detail and stems from an in depth technical understanding of what it takes to build a good wheel.

Christmas Closure 2021: The workshop will be closed for wheel building from 21st December 2021, re-opening on 5th January 2022. During this time orders and rider profiles will still be accepted on the website and communication will still be possible by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Current Lead Times: Approximately 3-4 weeks for wheel builds where parts are in stock or readily available. During 2021 and moving into 2022, the cycle trade has been affected by severe supply chain disruption as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, an unprecedented increase in demand, and the continued effects of Brexit. This has made delivering a custom product highly challenging, and I will always do my best to advise at the time of ordering if there is any expected delay to your build caused by parts shortages.
Workshop Opening Hours: The Puttenham workshop will be open for pre-arranged customer visits 5 days a week during the 2021 winter season. Please note that phone lines are only open on Wednesday – Friday. This measure has been implemented to provide a quieter period each week in which to solve supply chain issues, chase parts and critically to prepare for a smoother 2022 season with less disruption. Full telephone service will resume in spring 2022.
